 MANDATORY ATTENDANCE POLICY

Arcatheos is a rugged style camp designed to strengthen boys on their pursuit to manhood. To ensure safe and equal experience, boys are not permitted to leave the property at anytime during the camp, unless for medical emergencies.

If you do not believe that your son is able to sleep in a tent, to overcome homesickness, or to handle the challenges of inclement weather, please consider waiting a year for him to mature.

Safe Camp Environment Policy

At Arcātheos, we are called to share our gifts with one another and with the world. Given the importance of this call from God, it is essential that we, as a camp, do all we can to assure that the right gifts are shared in the right way, at the right time, by the right people. We fulfil our mission more effectively when we make every effort to ensure a richer, stronger, more vibrant and safer camp environment.

Therefore, all persons over the age of 18 attending camp must complete the Volunteer Screening Process in order to enter the property.

REFUND POLICY

Cancellation policy:

Before June 10, 2015 - Full Refund
June 30, 2015 - 50% Refund
After July 10, 2015 - NO Refund

All cancellations to be requested via email to the camp registrar. admin@arcatheos.com

MANDATORY GEAR LIST

We have a UNIFORM COLOR SCHEME at Arcātheos, some of which is mandatory, with the rest recommended to ensure a good sense of team unity.  Clothing that fails to meet the mandatory requirements below will NOT be permitted to be worn during camp, no exceptions.  Mandatory:  Official Arcātheos t-shirts (1 shirt included with registration – option to purchase more if needed), sand/khaki colored pants (eg. cargo) or shorts, and sand colored official Arcātheos hat (provided to those at camp without one)

Recommended: For cooler weather boys should have dark brown hoodies and jackets (Note: official Arcātheos hoodies for sale online with registration – very popular). If possible, it would be great to have dark brown rain jackets, but these are hard to find in youth sizing.

 OFFICER TRAINING

Officer registration deadline: July 10th, 2015

Note: The Officer Training is in such demand that the competition will likely be over long before this due date. There are currently only 40 spots available for this year.

In addition to the waiver and applicable fees, applications to the Officer Training must include a half page essay, emailed to officers@arcatheos.com within 7 days of registering online. Failure to include an essay within the time allotted will result in your application being closed. Your application and essay will then be reviewed by the admissions committee.

Successful applicants will start being notified as early as May 30th. At that time, you will be given a confidential password to access the “Officer’s Only” page, where you may download your pre-camp reading package. Those whose applications are declined will be contacted directly and receive a full refund shortly thereafter.

The Officer Essay topic for 2015 is the following:

Read Mark 12: 28-31, "The Greatest Commandment".

What do the words 'life of integrity' mean to you? What does living a life of integrity have to do with the Greatest Commandment expressed in this gospel passage?

If you have any difficulty with the Essay Topic, please do not hesitate to ask your parents or parish priest for assistance, or send an email to officers@arcatheos.com.
